Dirt Rally gets PlayStation VR support, includes all cars and tracks, plus a new co-driver mode

Codemasters, the developer studio of the widely popular DiRT Rally, has announced that the rally game will get PlayStation VR support in the coming weeks. The upgrade will be available as a DLC for existing PS4 players on the PlayStation Store, while new player can pucrchase a new boxed version of DiRT Rally, which comes complete with the VR add-on.

DiRT Rally has been available for Oculus Rift users since July 11th, 2016, but for console gamers this will be the first chance to get a taste of a fully immersive off-road experience. Codemasters has released a PSVR trailer (see below) to give you a taste of what it’s like to rally race from the cockpit view, but obviously from ewatching the video you won’t really get the same experience as playing with a VR headset.

As a special bonus, the new PS4 VR version will also provide an exclusive multiplayer feature, allowing a second player to join in on the fun. Using a second controller, the second player will take on the role of co-driver. They’ll watch the action on the TV and use the controller to instruct the VR driver about upcoming turns.

According to Codemasters, the DLC pack will arrive in the “coming weeks” for $13 / £9.99. There is no information about the pricing of the new physical version of the game that includesthe VR DLC.
