At Gamescom 2017 Ford and Microsoft are bringing closer together the virtual world of gaming and the real world of car racing. Gamescom visitors will have the opportunity to compete through VR driving to win a real life track experience.

Following companies like Audi, Mazda, Hyundai, and Porsche, Ford is the latest to jump on the virtual reality bandwagon with a driving experiences at its Gamescom 2017 booth.
As reported by VRfocus, visitors of the Ford booth, wearing an Oculus Rift headset, can sit through a performance ride alongside racing driver Harry Tinckness in a Ford Focus RS on the Belgian Formula 1 circuit of Spa. The experience is part of a competition, attendees are challenged to beat the lap time set by Harry Tinckness. The fastest pilots will be offered a real-life racing experience, where they will be flown by helicopter to try out the Ford Focus RS on the track for real, complete with expert coaching from Tinckness.
And that’s not all from Ford! According to VRfocus a driver training experience with the Google Daydream, aiming to improve road safety, is also available at the Ford Gamescom stand.
