Audi teamed up with Disney’s gaming division to showcase a new in-car experience concept, Holoride, that uses virtual reality headsets to turn vehicles into moving theme parks. The Audi-developed Holoride uses a mixture of VR and autonomous driving technology to create virtual reality adventures that sync with the movement of the vehicle.
Dirt Rally 2.0 is coming out in February 2019 but we know for sure that it will launch without a VR support. There’s still hope though, developer Codemasters says VR could be part of a future update, but that depends on how hard the gamer community wants it.
HTC has officially unveiled a brand new VR headset called the HTC ViveFocus, a standalone headset that runs on HTC’s own VR platform, the also brand new Vive Wave, and has access to the Viveport content store for downloading apps and games.
Dallas based production studio Janimation has recently announced the completion of its Virtual Reality Hot Air Balloon Ride, an immersive, interactive experience that takes virtual reality several steps further by stimulating the rider’s senses of sight, sound and touch.
