Sony have recently announced a great discount for the PSVR system. The PlayStation VR headset will be available at a special price this autumn. Related software title prices have also been reduced as part of the current promotion.

On January 24th 2017, Sony launched the second wave of PlayStation VR. The PS4 compatible virtual reality headset has now become available in the following countries: Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, South Africa, Turkey, India, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Israel, Cyprus, Malta and Iceland.

Sony Japan announced last week that between January 13 and 15, the latest version of the Gran Turismo series, Gran Turismo Sport will be available to play at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2017. This also means that lucky Tokyo-based gamers were among the firsts to try the epic racing game in virtual reality.

The 920xRGBx1080 OLED display can run 1080p games at 90Hz or 120Hz, depending on the game. It also has a very impressive 18ms response rate, which is faster than the highest acceptable latency by 0.002ms.

In his 2017 CES keynote, Sony boss Kaz Hirai stated that the recently launched PlayStation VR had had a “great start”, and also discussed the future of the VR headset, promising that  things could get even better for console VR gamers.
